Death inspires almost every choice I make:
If I'm cruel, I may never get a chance to make it right
If I take a loved one for granted, they could leave this world at any moment while I'm chasing something else
No matter what goals I pursue, most of what I want to achieve will remain unfinished, so I must set my priorities accordingly
This is why the stoics, the samurai, and the Aztecs all advocated living your life as if you were already dead.
When you're dead, you no longer have anything to lose, nor anything to prove, so there's no reason not to go all in on becoming who and what you want to be.
So, who do YOU want to be?
Why? π
"Donβt act as if you have 10,000 years to live. Death hangs over you. While you are still alive and able, be good." β Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
